The House

Belle Vallée is a maison de maitre, built in 1800. Local history has it that the land was a gift from Napoleon to one of his generals, who built the house. The fireplace in the dining room is reputed to be a gift from Napoleon. Once a working farm, there remains a stone cider press and a bread oven.

The spacious lounge is a cool retreat in the summer and in the winter the wood burning stove provides a cosy place to curl up. The dining room is in traditional French blue with original wooden panelling. The magnificent spiral staircase gives access to the bedrooms.
